The new Snapchat app comes with not only new features but also a redesigned user interface. The update was meant to grab users attention and to keep them on the app longer in hopes the app can evolve to be more like Facebook.

However, users are now pleading that the company reverses the changes, as users are complaining that they are struggling to find and use their favorite features in the app including Stories.

For our readers, we would like to point out that the feature has now been moved to the Friends Page along with usual Snaps and messages.

Snapchat even released a statement saying that they were ready for the outcry from users due to this update below is the comment from Evan Spiegel, CEO of Snapchat.

There is a strong likelihood that the redesign of our application will be disruptive to our business in the short term, and we don’t yet know how the behavior of our community will change when they begin to use our updated application. – Evan Spiegel, Snapchat CEO

Last Year the company did promise its users that it was going to redesign the app and that time has finally come. However, the release is being met with much confusion and outcry particularly on other forms of social media.

So far it seems the largest concern with the redesign is that the old stories page users could swipe left on the camera screen to access them. However, now oddly the app now requires you to swipe right on the camera section and stories have been renamed to “Dynamic Friends page” which sounds something more like a programmer named because they forgot the feature name than an actual designers choice.

Snapchat is aware of the complaints as the company spokesperson commented:

“Updates as big as this one can take a little getting used to, but we hope the community will enjoy it once they settle in.”

The alterations made by Snapchat helps them to progress in business and make money. The company also reveals its strong fourth quarter financial result. It might take a little time for the users to get used to this Friends page but we hope the results are worth it.
