There has been a slow stream of news coming out China suggesting that HMD Global is ready for the global launch of its Nokia 7 in early 2018. While the Nokia 7 officially launched in October it was only released in China.
The phone will have the model number TA-1041 but there has been little info on the exact launched date. However, HMD may host an international event on January 19th which it’s to be expected it’s going to launch both the Nokia 7 for international use and the next phone in the series (Nokia 9).
The Chief Marketing Officer for HMD has also publicly stated that “The phone is designed for Chinese consumers so currently, we have no plans to bring it to India.” However, with an expected global launch its quite interesting to see how this will play out as we might have a variant for the global release that is more “westernized”.
Currently, the phone comes in at 2499 RMB or about 381 USD. The slightly higher-end model comes in at 2,699 RMB or about 411 USD.
The specs for the phone comes in with a 5.2-inch display, at 1920 x 1080 pixels at 423 PPI. Its packed with a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor and comes with either 4Gb of ram in the slightly less expensive version to 6GB of ram in the more expensive version.
It comes with 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB microSD card. It’s powered by Android Nougat 7.1.1 and comes with a 16MP rear camera and 5MP front-facing camera. With 3,000 mAh battery, it lasts quite a long time.
