In May, Microsoft announced that Cortana will be the first personal digital assistant who works cross device and that it would be heading to both Android and IOS devices. Today, they have announced that they are in a public beta for the Cortana app that will be available to all Android Users.
The Cortana app can do most of the things that Cortana can do such as setting reminders, searching the web, and tracking important information such as your flight information. She will also be able to start and complete tasks across all of your devices.
Microsoft has made several improvements since their closed beta announcement and they have added the ability for you to add Cortana as the destination for when you click the home button on your mobile device.
Currently, you are not able to access Cortana without clicking on her as the phrase “Hey Cortana” is only accessible on Windows devices at this time. To make matters a little worse is that Cortana for Android will only be available for the U.S but Microsoft has said that they will roll it out to other markets.
