How To Add Color to Your Mobile Browser Address Bar in WordPress

Both Android and IOS devices allow you to style the address bar by adding color to it. This can be done by adding a meta tag to your header, and the best part it can be done dynamically and without using any plugin.

Its important to note that you are not able to style the header for IOS devices as it requires a unique color to be set based on their pre-selected choices but on android devices you can freely select the color.

To add the styling you need to add the following code to your functions.php file (of your child theme) or a custom / site specific plugin. The below code can be easily modified to change the color and it works on Android, Firefox OS, Opera, Windows Phone, and IOS. This can be done with any theme and doesn’t require you to use any other plugin or dependency. Simply paste the following code below into the functions.php file of your site.

Copy the above code into the functions.php file and to change the color simply edit the following line.
$color = “#000”;

Change the #000 to any color that you wish and then it will then reflect in the browsers header.
